Between 21 October and 26 November 2025, the Primary School in Podłopień successfully carried out a full cycle of DigiGap workshops, engaging 6 teachers and 37 students from grades 4–8. Over the course of 18 sessions, young participants completed each stage of the programme with great enthusiasm – ultimately becoming confident Digital Change Agents within their school community.
The workshops were organised on the following dates:
21.10, 22.10, 23.10, 24.10, 28.10, 29.10, 31.10, 4.11, 6.11, 7.11, 13.11, 14.11, 18.11, 19.11, 20.11, 21.11, 25.11, 26.11.2025.
Sessions 1–2: Generational Differences and the Role of an Educator
The first meetings introduced students to the subject of generational differences and digital learning. Participants created imaginative technological timelines and analysed the digital competences of their family members, reflecting on how each generation interacts with technology.
In Session 2, students designed their vision of an “ideal teacher” and discussed qualities essential for effective educational support in the digital era. We extend our gratitude to the parents for their active involvement and participation in the accompanying mini-survey.
Sessions 3–4: Pedagogical Skills – Patience, Empathy and Clear Communication
The next stage of the workshop cycle focused on developing the interpersonal skills required for intergenerational teaching. Students practised patience and empathy, while learning how to communicate complex ideas in a simple, accessible manner. Special attention was given to avoiding unnecessary digital jargon and structuring explanations so that all family members—regardless of age or digital confidence—could understand.
Sessions 7–8: Digital Creativity – Canva and Google Calendar
The final sessions immersed participants in practical digital creativity tasks. Students worked with Canva to design posters, bookmarks, invitations, and even their first CVs, while some experimented with basic video editing. They also explored the features of Google Calendar, discovering how digital tools can support organisation, reduce daily stress, and improve time management for both themselves and their families.
DigiComBook Supplement for Continued Learning
At the end of the workshop series, each participant received a special DigiComBook supplement, also available on the school website. This resource helps students consolidate the skills acquired during the programme and apply them in real-life situations, particularly when supporting parents and grandparents in developing digital competences.
The entire workshop cycle was marked by high motivation, creativity, and collaboration—demonstrating the strong commitment of teachers and students in Podłopień to bridging generational digital gaps.
